Jill A. Goldman received her Masters of Science in Experimental Psychology from Dalhousie University studying the behavior of wolves, and her Doctorate in Brain Behavior and Cognitive Science from York University studying the behavior of non-human primates. She held a 2 year post-doctoral Animal Behavior Fellowship in the Animal Behavior Center at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) working with dogs and cats, including an internship at the Central Park Zoo working with exotic and farm animals. After touring several horse race tracks and stables, her interests expanded to the behavioral issues of racehorses. She has been interviewed by the media, filmed by Discovery and Animal Planet channels, and has lectured throughout the United States and Canada on a variety of animal behavior topics at universities, veterinary colleges and associations, shelter outreach workshops, and scientific conferences. Publications include a chapter in Shelter Medicine for Veterinarians and Staff (2004). Currently, Dr. Goldman has a successful referral based animal behavior practice in Southern California.
