Dr. Suzanne Hetts and Dr. Dan Estep are certified by the Animal Behavior Society as applied animal behaviorists. They co-own Animal Behavior Associates, Inc, in Littleton, Colorado. Dr. Hetts is an award winning speaker and author and in 2001, she directed the Delta Society’s Professional Standards for Dog Trainers project. Before joining Suzanne at ABA over 15 years ago, Dr. Estep was a college professor at the University of Georgia, winning several teaching awards, conducting scientific research on animal behavior and was published in numerous scientific articles, books and book chapters. Suzanne and Dan are internationally recognized experts in animal behavior, and have lectured on four continents to pet owners and pet professionals. Drs. Estep and Hetts consult with veterinarians, dog trainers, humane societies, personal injury attorneys and major corporations in the pet industry to help them understand and work with animal issues. They have helped thousands of pet owners improve their pets’ behavior and their relationships with them. Their publications and videos are used in nationwide training programs for pet professionals and pet owners. Dan and Suzanne share their home with their orange tabby cat Buffett, Dalmatian Ashley and Irish setter Coral.
